Heinrich Schliemann (he was born on 6th of January 1822 in Neubukow (Germany)-he died on 26th of December 1890 in Naples (Italy))was an archeologist and an advocate of the historical reality of places mentioned in the works of Homer. He discovered Troya and Mycenae. I don't write in this post about his archeologist career.
Heinrich Schliemann was prominent polyglot - autodidact. He know many languages like Eanglish, French, Portugal, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Greek, Old - Greek, Polish, Dutch, Latin, Arabian and of course his native language - German. He though that when someone want to learn new language he/she must speak laud with other people or to him/herself. Of course, when he was learning new language he speak laud and his neighburs weren't happy. He must change his flat twice. He didn't like speak to himself so he pay some money person who listen to him. This person usually didn't understand what Heinrich said, but it wasn't problem for Schliemann. I think his method for learning languages is very good because when we speak to other people we can learn more than do boring grammar exercises.
I learn three foreign languages - English, German and Russian and my native language - Polish. I have english and german at school but after school I have english lessons too ( twice a week ). Russian learn me my mother ( I was born in Belarus - my mother family comes from there ).
I very like learn other languages but I hate grammar. I know that I must learn grammar but I don't like it. When I talk with other people e.g. in Russian I am very happy that they understand me and that I understand their - it give me big satisfaction. I think that in these days we must know many languages - it help us to communicate!
